Toro Rosso STR8 Ferrari

Their pullrod attaches way forward compared to other teams.

Is that me or there is 2 holes in that diffuser? :wtf:
I thought only 1 hole (for engine starter) was allowed?

There's a small slit between both holes, so that per rules it counts as one hole.

Same trick than the slit before rear wheel then? interesting. Was it on the STR7 too cause I never saw that before?

this trick is used by every team. Ferrari was the first to use this trick in it's cooling gills on the 2010 F10

2010? damned! I must have missed a lot of things then  I thought the first were McLaren with there octopus exhaust (which required a slit to be legal) and then 2012.

An idea (maybe a silly one) just came to me: could they use the same trick to have DDD again? I don't know exactly how they ban them, I only remember there was an area where you could put holes to feed the other deck. So would a long slit from the edge of the floor to the feeding hole work, at least from a legal PoV (a slit all across the floor is not a thing you normally want)?

Trackside impressions by Gary Anderson, from the latest edition of Autosport:
Gary Anderson wrote:The two drivers have different styles. Jean-Eric Vergne is more aggressive, while Daniel Ricciardo tends to carry a bit more speed into corners. The rear of the car is a little bit nervous and, much like the Sauber, if it’s not doing this then there’s understeer. That shows that STR still needs to find some more downforce at the rear.

i think they have put it in selected areas to get a better understanding of the flow only in that area, beats slapping it allover and looking at the flow i think they'll get a more accurate view from this.

they might have done a few runs of the paint being put on like this and clean it off each time and move the paint up or down from where it was previously painted
