Why oh why did I watch Driven?

I sat down last night and I watched parts of a movie:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0132245/
It was so horrible I couldn't watch it whole. It wasn't just the bad soap opera cliche melodrama that got me (it only made me change the channel for a while to calm my cringe), mostly it was the silly, constant, illogical crash scenes that got me thinking of this forum. Imagining certain people here shaking their heads at the wrongness of it all, I just had to vent here sorry >.<
Heh at one point it even reminded me of old Herbie
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbie
Except that was a comedy and this movie actually took itself seriously. What a waste of time and talent and money...

Please dont use the word 'talent' this is Hollywood you are speaking of.
To be top there you just need muscles and a voice from a motor mouth rapper, you dont need talent.
If you aspire to American politics you go even further.
Driven is the funniest film pretending to be about motorsport I have seen up to now.
Cringe score +11.

I actually had to laugh when I spotted this topic... because I just watched this movie recently too. It's quite sad really...

I think I can explain why Driven is such a useless film.
Hollywood has always been used as part of the American propagander system.
They choose a subject usualy a brilliant and true historical achievement, change all the main characters to Americans and add a macho script that depicts the 'actors' as the all American boy or girl capable of winning under any pressure.
Usualy it is cleverly done and the viewer is led into believing that America is best and has been reponsible for every human achievement from stone age hunting to the present day.
In most cases it is an obvious blatant attempt to change history and a lot of times it works totaly distorting education and social development around the planet.
In this case and in some others, those who wrote the script and directed actualy had no idea whatsoever about the subject matter.
In the tradition of Hollywood they blundered on of course not being the slightest bit aware of their failings.

*shock* Are you saying the US Navy didn’t capture an Engima machine from a U-Boat and Robin Hood didn’t have an American accent?
What about that documentary about Starship Enterprise, don’t tell that’s not true either???
