WEC (World Endurance Championship) 2014

I think we talked about this months ago. Back during the week of the race, we were told that the WEC/FIA had called a meeting with COTA people & told them that they wouldn't be returning to COTA under the same management, and that the event was the worst-run event they'd ever seen. Now John Dagys has filed a story about it.
So, apparently even though COTA is still on the calendar, it's still not a done deal.

COTA is a fairly terrible race track, would much prefer to see the WEC at Sebring firstly, followed by Road Atlanta or Road America later in the year.

... Why not just watch ALMS then?

what ALMS? I am quite sure that became the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. A championship where teams still are unsure about what to expect that is starting in 50 days.

I meant USCR. And only the lmp2 and DP teams don't know what to expect. PC, GT and GTC are more or less unchanged, and the calendar's set.

True, though that's quite of a big thing. That such things might be complicated to adjust, I can comprehend that, but really, 50 days and still no clarity? Not to mention everything can change in mid season if people feel like it.
It will be interesting to see if another DP will take off in the next test.

Will the Porsche be capable of winning Le Mans in 2014?

I kind of think they do, but realistically, probably not unless some calamity befalls all of the Audis. Everything now is new and untested for them, but then again, it wasn't that long ago that Porsche built the RS Spyder. A lot has changed since then, and no doubt LMP1 is different from LMP2, but that car did once beat the R10 TDI at Sebring.

The Porsche program appears to be on hold as the first exemplary of the new LMP1 was burned to crisp during a recent private test at Le Castellet, FRA. according to radio LeMans.
