You dont see this anymore...back in the day every point mattered, now the racing director would be delighted to give the driver a DSQ

Prost won the championship that year. Amazing to look at that iconic shot from mid-season and remember how far off the pace the McLaren Porsche was for most of the season.

Wow that's so cool, he was such an incredibly naturally talented guy, a world champion guaranteed.. Such a tragic loss and quite frankly I wish I'd never read about his fatal crash. RIP

That's a beautifully exposed image with perfect focus. You have to admire the skill and attention to get such a great image.

Good point, the cars are from a different era but so is the photography. The effort and skill required to get a good action shot back then was tremendous. These old pictures have much to admire from both sides of the lens.

On the other hand, photographer (and general admission) access was incredible compared to now.

The first and only race for Peterson with the Lotus 77/2 JPS12-Ford Cosworth : Brazil 1976 !

It was also Ronnie's only race for the John Player Team Lotus in 1976.
