Just a quick note that nobody will get banned for voting, and nobody will get unbanned because of it.

I disabled voting on posts (voting on the poll is still open).
We can't see who votes for who. Even if you publicly display your vote by posting it, we'd never take any disciplinary actions just for a vote on a poll. That's just silly.
As Steven said, the decision will not be reversed. We've explained why and how in the other topic

This whole thing sort of reminds me of this clip...I'm sure some more astute individuals can draw their own conclusions from this.

What is the point, the guy did wrong, im sure in the cold light of day he knows what he was doing and whilst I enjoyed reading his posts, if the blokes messed up he should have the bollocks to apologise first and foremost, never mind if he has been banned or not, he deserves a ban for not apologising and acting like a adult.

As far as I can tell some members think they or people they like don't have to abide by the rules the rest of us do.

I do not know what happened with X and I dont care.
Just want to say that I used to be arround when he came in with his arrogant comments and was one of the things that made me go away (among many many others)..
Then I decided to ignore his remarks and recently I understood that his sense of humour is something he cant avoid.
In a tech forum he is not a necessity, in a chit chat forum he may be funny.

That if you are a hapless unarmed hippy, then don't go riling up shotgun-happy rednecks?
Or,
If you wanna be a tough, in-your-face attitude biker, best pack some useful heat.. to back it up..

The 'rest of the forum' and the mods have always abided by their own rules - whatever they are. It's why you see very little 'technical' discussion on F1'Technical' these days and why the people who used to provide it have long since lost interest and fallen by the wayside. Any attempted technical discussion is, at times, utterly laughable - and that's being polite.
You get mods reacting to perceived insults, demanding apologies from people and failing to actually read and, you know, moderate the discussions they're not qualified to do so on. At times it's absolutely crystal clear when a member has lost an argument or is just technically wrong, and can't accept it out of some personal allegiance most of the time, but the mods just simply seem keen to prop the fanboys up. In the case of turbo he's got pretty frustrated on many occasions when certain members have been backed into a corner. His usual response to me on those occasions was 'Whatever'. Tells you all you need to know, as does the publication of private PMs as he gloats over power in his little fiefdom.
Using the word 'technical' implies some black and white and if you can't moderate that....then it's time to consider doing something else. Under those circumstances frustration and perceived abuse follows as the lunatics take over the asylum. The place is worse than Autosport because at least there you know what to expect.
'Unanimously agreed upon' says Steven. As if there is some kind of due process and in depth discussion that goes on over these matters.

Really?
What the hell is going on here?
Dirty washing in public is unbecoming.
Gitanes, we get how you feel. But this crusade of yours is farcical.
Deal with it like an adult, it is not you that is banned.
Besides, X may be back in time when things settle down.
Time, the great healer.
Not sure how many more "x is banned" variations of threads this place can tolerate.
