Mercedes Power Unit Hardware & Software

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Note the road car spec oil filter and headers. Everything else looks identical.

What makes you say it's a road car spec oil filter and headers? Other than the "easy out" design, I would imagine the filter here has fewer pleats and a lower resistance than the road car.

That's all, just the location and size are unique. The headers are wider, not held close to the block. This is the road car version btw, not sure if you saw the prev post.

It would make a great marketing segment if they could share something like the oil filters though :o

From the AMG One. Nice to finally see more details of these engines after eight years.

AMG ONE block. Sand printed mold casting pour filled from bottom up most probably cast in Germany and supplied for build to Brixworth. The AMG ONE uses both direct and induction injection.

So turbo lag will factor into the car's charactrristics in 2026 and driving style.

500hp kers... will the ice still have up to 750hp?
will fuel pressure increase.
For Sure!!

Pretty sure the document from the decision made by the FIA states that the new ICE target is around 540 HP - a 40% decrease on existing ICE regs

I think both the fuel capacity and fuel flow rate have been slashed. From there you can work out that there will have to be a horsepower reduction unless somebody invents a new combustion cycle :P

What advantage do the vanes serve?

Those moveable vanes in front of compressor intake. A throttling system. Manipulating that throttling system will result in less turbo lag, faster turbo spinning, no need for a blow-off valve.
