SO they just said on Eurosport that he has some kind of airbag-ish shooting chair below him. In case of an issue he could eject himself

Toyota seems to be having a potential winner.
Bringing 1 year earlier their new drive train.
It's hell fast and still doing 1 lap longer stints.

#1 is dropping down the pecking order as the team is replacing the water pump. https://twitter.com/Porsche_Team/status ... 0455777280 The car is down in 18th place now, 16 laps down on the leader and still stuck in the pits.

Meanwhile, Toyota #6 leads with Mike Conway at the wheel (10 pitstops done), 1 minute ahead of Toyota #5 (11 pitstops done) and 7 more seconds ahead of Porsche #2 (11 pitstops done).

#1 Porsche got out of the pits 18 laps down, only to find out another technical issue. Hartley slowly returned to the pits, part of his lap seemingly on electric power only.

The top 3 meanwhile lapping 3:21's.

Four cars are still in a good position for the win. It's more difficult for Audi#7 (8 laps down) but it's not over yet.

We can be sure that Porsche #1 will not win two in a row : the #1 curse strokes again this year.

So far so good for Ford.

It's the Garage 56 entry btw.
The driver, Frederic Sausset, is a quadruple amputee.
The controls he’s using to drive his open-top Morgan-Nissan LMP2 were developed initially to get him back behind the wheel of a road car.

These controls are simple but clever because the system can be removed, allowing his Le Mans teammates—Tinseau and Jean-Bernard Bouvet—to drive the car conventionally. Sausset steers with his prosthetic right arm, plugging it into his own steering wheel. His thighs activate paddles in the seat, applying the brake and accelerator pedals via removable levers.

The concessions to his disability are a full automatic gearbox, turned off for his teammates, and power-assisted ABS brakes.

the race director has humor, heard him on the radio earlier: could the manager for car number xx please ask his driver if he has some kind of problem that prevents him from seeing blue flags being waved

Still four cars in contention but the Audi #8 is too slow to win by itself.

Toyota has still 2 cars against Porsche for the final sprint but I will put my money on the #2.

Only four cars retired until now.

I'm hoping for a Toyota win. Such a great comeback after sliding down the ranks in recent years.

Currently:
Porsche #2 leading, Toyota #5 at 2.2s, Toyota #6 at another 20.4s

Meanwhile,
- Audi #8 has been put into the pits, taking off the nose cone for some inspecting. He's already lost two extra laps.
- Audi #7 is down 14 laps
- Porsche #1 is down 38 laps

Anybody knows what happened to Manor #44 ? (18 laps down on LMP2 leader)
