Why square tube? Most of the fabrication I have done to chassis has been round DOM tubing. Given this is for rockcrawling and not racing, but the strength provided should still be the same. The only thing that is even close to problamatic with the round tube is having to make mounting tabs for everything, but a huge gain is bending it so is doesn't have to be welded at every change of direction (much stronger). That square is hard to bend without kinking, even with the appropriate dies.

Either way looks like a lot of fun. Keep burning, it will all come together eventually. Good luck.

CF replica mudguards only cost me £60. Look no different from the real deal which I have seen priced at £170 in some places. Not sure on exhaust silencers yet as that is way down the road at the moment.

Only using a limited amount of steel tubes for triangulation and strenghening purposes. I am riveting alot of aluminium to the spaceframe (floor/siepanels etc.) which would be more difficult with tubing.

Going to work on the independant rear suspension subframe next. (double wishbones all round)

Only an observation: you put the steering wheel at the wrong side of the car. Hope it helps... :D

Well, according to the text under his avatar I dare to assume that he's from England, which places the "wrong side of the car" in quite a different perspective... :wink:

Yeah. British drive on the left side which is the right side. No, I mean the left side, which is right, or should I say we drive on the right side, on the left, urm, hem, right is left so left is, Oh no. I 've got a headache.

We drive on the right side which is correct and everyone else (except Oz and RSA I think) drives on the left which is wrong. Wait, no. We drive on the correct side which is right and everyone else drives on the wrong side, left. Or is it???

Is anyone elso confused.

[edit:] we drive on the correct side to the left whereas the Australians drive on the correct side to the left. Swedish used to drive on the correct side on the left but then they got confused by Norway and finland who drive on the right which is wrong, so now Sweden drive on the right which is wrong and have the bus stops in the middle which is true. Everyone else drives on the right which is wrong except in Africa where many roads aren't roads and you try your hardest to stay off the roads because they have lots of pot-holes and Greece, Turkey and much of South America who drive straight down the middle! Hey!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU TOOK ME SERIOUSLY! :lol: I shall sprinkle more icons next time... This guy is going to work at F-1, our only and lonely insider! I was joking about the observations made to a modified Lotus 7, whose plans and specifications ares older than ourselves...

This shows to me that Manchild and Tom have the patience of angels... I suppose they got it threading with Jason. :wink: Thanks, guys, the less I would have called myself would have been "moron". Please, take in account my twisted (and terrible) latin humor.
