McLaren MCL32 Honda

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

At first insight: still a basic car except for advanced front wing and rear wing detailing

That engine doesn't seem to need air / cooling compared to other cars.

Under the flashing lights I thought it looked a bit underwhelming. But once the lights were up full, those FW mounts...

Those alone tell me PP has been busy!!

Look forward to some clearer pictures!

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Looks fast judging by Alonso's hair.

Sorry.

Front wing reminds me of '08 cars, like so much of these launches.

I'm a bit disappointed really, it doesn't really look like that much of a departure from last year's car. I don't foresee this winning anything.

Nice and developed rear wing. Looks like it has the DNA from the last year tested wing.
Are there another set of cooling inlets under the main ones on the sidepods?

Turning vanes very similar to the Renault ones. The rest isn't particulary inspiring

With this black colour its difficult to appreciate the back end of the car but it seems to be quite narrow(0 size still there?).

Front wing is spectacular, PP has worked hard. Nose seems to be quite similar to Ferrari´s.

As it has already been mentioned floor seems to be basic but its not easy to see it properly.

The parts which seems to be developed more look quite aggressive, hope they can generate loats of downforce.

Looks like there isnt much to differentiate these cars besides the engine power on the track.
Would need to see more details on this very black car to see what they really have different.

Looks very smooth. Ignoring the floor, I see fewer little tweaks and accoutrements compared to others. Some of this is obviously to not show their full hand before testing, but some may be part of PP's philosophy.

Lots of "lets not make promises" comments, maybe overcompensating for previous years :v
