Hello guys,

It has been a long time since I posted, but we were busy creating the amazing! We have successfully rebuilt a fully working 2001 Bar Honda F1 car in it's entirety with all working hydraulic, moog valves, xtrac transmission, cosworth transmissions, magnetti marelli, it is fully a working F1 car with clutch on the steering wheel, no short cuts.

We performed the first roll out on a private airport for mostly data and tuning purposes, but I think you will all enjoy knowing this car is fully up and running again. Ask me lots of questions, and I will be happy to answer them

Just quickly, in the video we ran during break in to 16,000 rpm but it will run to 18,300 max rpm! Happy viewing and turn up the sound.

Does it have the original Honda engine in it ? Or some replacement, like a Cosworth ?

Awesome, Dan! The amount of time, manhours and resources this project must have taken... . Will you perhaps enter in one or other competition?

Amazing! Congrats to you and your team too. 18300rpm is still an honda, cosworth engine cant achieve that. I remember it is 17800rpm on final v10 version on RBR

We upgraded to Cosworth engine which will travel 2,000 kilometers before rebuild. It is a full v-10 engine so it has lots of power. Honda does not sell their engines but if McLaren can't get them to run, I surely won't be able to help them. haha

Thanks for the congrats, and I know there have been lots of proposed project on this forum but this is a real challenge to get an F1 car running. It is impossible to get it to run correctly if you don't own the rights. The hydraulic portion of the car is especially challenging, but if you can make it work, using the clutch off the steering wheel is a very interesting way to see a fly by wire system at it's best.

It will run in a few races like a boss gp or svra. :)

WGI by any chance? If so, I'll definitely have to make the trip down...

Wow, fair play for you for bringing back to life an F1 car with the correct equipment.

You mention hydraulics is a pain, but how so? I don't see much hydraulics going on compare to say a WRC car from the 2000s where they had active diffs, hydraulic shift, hydraulic adjustable suspension, hydraulic actuated antiroll bars, etc.

I'm interested in this side of things. Beside the usual "how to do bring the car from cold to running condition for a run" question hehe.

Hats off sir. =D>

WGI may be on the circuit. I want to definitely go to Cota and Thermal with a run through Monticello. There are a few others on my hit list, but the problem is sound regulation. At 150 DB, I am locked out of a lot of tracks.

The 18,300 is from Cosworth directly. Cosworth fully rebuilt the engine from ground up with all of the 2005 upgrades to all internal components, so it runs longer and rev's higher!
