Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

I saw talk of different design tyres from this race onward, ones which theoretically help Mercedes.

Is this true? I can find nothing about it anywhere.

This is the first time teams won't bring their tyre choices they have made months before season start, right?

If the Race does not feature any SC, I believe Vettel has this in the bag.
In testing Ferrari had to save a lot of fuel round here and Mercedes didn't but maybe that's in the past now
Saving fuel or sand bagging?
Always find the gap then use it.

I think LM meant the date the tyre choice was made, not whether they could make the tyre choice.

Lead times on the tyres are 3-4 months, the selection for Aus was made back Nov/Dec last year, so the tyres for Spain may have just been selected after pre-season started.

8 weeks in advance for races in Europe and 14 weeks in advance for races outside of Europe.

Yes, that's what I meant. :)

I think Australia answered that question.

In many ways due to safety cars, we’re still waiting in a clean race to determine a winner based on who is actually fastest. Ferrari appear to be fastest right now, but lost China in the pits and Baku... well.

This could be the one. Expecting merc to be 100% back so hopefully ferrari has used the first 4 to understand their car and make it a close one

Correct me if I am wrong but Bahrain was a fairly clean race. I would not say that a VSC on lap 2 for 3 minutes had any effect on that race. Sure it was a strategy race, but all races this year will be like that. Nobody is going race-long full attack mode.

Any idea whats Williams doing with that strategy ? :wtf: :wtf:

This is not their circuit and already they are behind Saubers in terms of raw pace. Are they racing to please their investors here or what ??

Mercedes and SFI looks very conservative as well.
