So Vettel looks quick in S1 but then tyres fade at the end

Imo it's more like they're just insanely fast down the 2 straights.

Mercedes and Ferrari need to figure out how to get on top of the damn cheese tires.

Looks like Hamilton will have to rely on the Red Bulls not tripping each other up and one of them winning. He might struggle to get even the 5 points he needs if Vettel wins...

Lewis did a SS lap of 1:18.779.

I'm going to have to assume that a 1:18.1 on HS is not the Merc's top potential.

Same goes for Ferrari's FP struggles. These teams are trying to figure out the tire strategies and setups right now, in what is a tricky situation.

Apart if Merc can resolve their issue overnight as they do sometimes they might need to start 11th with harder tires in order to have a chance of winning it on Sunday.

I think Hamilton is going to be more concerned with finishing than finishing first. It probably unsettled him not sealing the deal last week so make sure it is nailed on this week.
Wins are nice, but championships are what really count.

Worst case, 6th should easily be achievable, if not 5th....
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

I'm not sure he's worried about the title, to be fair, because the odds are massively his way. He did have some PU issues during FP, however, which won't have helped his mood/confidence. I'm sure they'll have a play over night and figure something out.
