Scuderia Toro Rosso STR14

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Different FW mounting compared to last year. 3 slots vs 2.

It looks like the airbox vents straight through to the back of the car. I have not seen this before. Is it "standard" practice?

some oil coolers are missing hence you're seeing the hollow rear end

It's just a Render with no Internals / PU fitted. There are many incomplete Areas on these Pictures.

As expected. RB14B with some sort of Ferrari inspired channel before sidepod cooling entries. Central cooling inlet looks huge.
Like STR13, STR12, STR11, STR10 and STR9 mrgreen:
Sure, but I'm not comparing to previous TR cars but to RB14. Can't wait for RB15, but seems the Honda engine demands a bit more cooling.

Note that the front wing is not what you'll eventually see. Definitely a quick mockup to just show something. It has some interesting details regarding overall bodywork and suspension, but take any aerodynamic piece and even the coke bottle with a grain of salt.

Either the perspective is different or the STR14 is a much sleeker vehicle. Possibly both.

It looks like Honda might have reworked their exhaust header.

I don't think any Team will show there real car during presentation, not even during testing (only a few parts to test if they work), the complete car will be first seen at AUSGP.

These presentations and testing has been to hyped by the media in order to generate clicks and hoping they have the "right News"

Perspective or rather field of view is quite off unfortunately.

I agree about the renders and initial presentation, but we have seen pretty much everything in testing the last years. This year will be no difference. With the limited amount of testing availiable these days, teams can not afford to sandbag or hide alot of stuff anymore.

Packaging and cooling very reminiscent of RB14.

The whole car (from the sidepod to back) is similar to RB14. Similar to the Haas relationship with Ferrari. That may give them a good performance gain this year.

I always liked STR. I hope they hit the jackpot again this year like 2008 Monza.

Probably the best looking car they have produced in a long time.

James Key Who?
