My bigger concern is that Ferrari are only 2/10ths up on their soft run in comparison to Bottas’ medium run.
Your concern or your joy?

Time to switch off TV. Another 2016. Who cares about midfield :-)
Well, if Bottas can beat Hamilton and really fight for the championship at least it will be worth of it.

No, I just don't believe the concern Mercedes fans claim to have. They would love the team they are supporting to be as dominantly fast as possible.

Don't be so cynical, just because some fans are that way, doesn't mean all of them are.

According to Andrew Benson race simulations look depressing if you want some battle for the race. :(

This. And I'm a fan of Hamilton more than I am of Bottas.

Hopefully new Ferraris PU true pace emerges beyond Mercedes current PU.....or we're in for another very boring Mercedes WDC and WCC once again.
How many more comments of this sort are we gonna read? Funny thing is that most of them come from obvious Mercedes fans who, I guess, don’t actually hope Ferrari to get on top of their problems and seriously challenge Mercedes.
Always makes me smile, though. :)
Thanks for keeping up with all my posts...my #1 fan LM10.
I'm a Ferrari fan...a frustrated Ferrari fan...but still a Ferrari fan since day 1

Any links for race simulation data?
Ferrari may have been running the new engine on conservative modes today before increasing for FP3 and qualifying.

Long run pace seems to be similar to China. Mercedes ahead comfortably (3 to 4 tenths) followed by Ferrari and Red Bull. Ferrari as usual would most likely qualify ahead of Red Bull and from there, Max would be a thorn for Ferrari in the race as he seems to have the same race pace as that of Ferrari.

Aero and tyre changes seems to have taken F1 back to 2016.

But who are those Mercedes fans who so maniacally want Mercedes to crush the opposition? Unless he is imagining things that doesn't exist. Mercedes doesn't have a great deal of fan following like Ferrari or Red Bull (mostly all of dutch folks) and on top of that, Mercedes has delivered way more than any of it's fans ever wanted in terms of winning races and championships, to the extent that it has become too much to digest. Beyond that, if anyone thinks Mercedes fans secretly desire the team to crush the others, it's simply paranoia.
