Nice one! Thanks. Close observation shows that Perez still is really unable to drive it smooth and leaves a lot of performance on the table. I get a feeling that, even if Bottas is put in that car, he would go at least a few tenths faster than Perez.

W11 followed by the W10.

Maybe its time to start looking at F1 in a different way to appreciate it. Its no longer a competition, its a demonstration from Mercedes and one that has never been witnessed and likely never will be after it is over.

By not getting angry, it could be possible to be happy we are all witnessing such a class act and moment in history.

Without that, I'm really struggling to justify my 'weekly pass' on NowTV for the nest 18 months.

I've often wondered why they don't use something better. Jet dryers aren't exactly great for the asphalt, but something similar would do a much better job.

Even if Mercedes is winning, we have still had some great races especially over the last 10-15 races, Austria, Germany, Monza, Brazil, Austria again, the races overall I think have been good.

You save money if you buy monthly passes for the triple headers.

Was this the first time Renault publicly said that they believe RP has received drawings and parts?
Spicy.

Sounds like BS to me, if they had any proof of that, the investigation would take about 10 minutes.

Which is true. I heard Crofty saying that they are claiming they're "based" on last year's W10, which back then Break Drums were listed parts and allowed to be sold. Spicy indeed.

The Merc mic placement sounds horrible. I don't know why they moved them.
It's the exhaust mic and its very audible when wastegates are open. it's also been there since 2018 so im not sure what you mean by "moved" them.

They were sold, but that is the critical thing. Renault is betting that RacingPoint cut open a W10 brake duct from last year and copied it for this year. This is in my opinion close to being illegal. The rule was implemented so that teams need to design their own brake ducts, copying a part you bought last year is not designing. Another important aspect is that it is very different thing to take publicly available photos and then reverse engineer the car and whole another is if you got a part and copied it.

Imagine if Racing Point cut open a Mercedes engine and copied it and came in next year Aston Martin engined. This kind of situation would be obviously illegal and there would be no doubt. Just because this was a smaller part does not change the situation. Only problem here is that Mercedes should be aggrieved party and they seem to be happy to ignore it.

100% agree with you. I couldn't have said it any better.

Unless their is something in the rules that prevents that, or something in sales contract that prevents that then it would be legal.

You buy the part, not the intellectual property. Just like in real life when you buy something, you do not get the right to copy and manufacture it.

Only if the product has been patented/copyrighted, or the sales contract contains a clause that specifically prevents it,otherwise it's legal.
