OMG... it looks like they are rallying in Finland! That track is so slippery. I see a win for Kimmy😂
Don't forget, there's a Finn in a much faster car at the front of the grid.

True, but only one of them is an ex-WRC driver

Also true, but the Finnish people can practically rally before they can walk, so it's not like VB would be rubbish off-road.

Bottas has entered some Scandinavian winter rally events in the F1 off season. He’s hinted he might switch to rally when his single seat career is over.

Watching FP1... imagine if this race was a 2 day weekend and this as the session heading into qualifying; Imagine the chaos during qualifying and the race! You'd almost call it a free for all. :wtf:

Let's hope it doesn't rain. It will be undriveable and the race will be red flagged with cars in the barriers everywhere.

Track was wet ? They're some 15 seconds than they're supposed to be (at least).

Think I'd revise my early pole prediction from 1.21 to something like 1.25 at the best of days. If things stay vaguely the same I dont see them making up more than 10 seconds even on soft in Q3. If you look at 2012 USA which was something similar, if just a bit less extreme, laptimes from fp1 to Q3 improved only by around 2.5-3s. Even if we triple that this weekend we're still off by a second or two from track record.

The track was damp in parts but the not very wet. The dampness didn’t dry up everywhere, especially in the shade of the stands, presumably as the track surface is quite cold.

It looked like a skating rink at the start, it looked like there was far less grip than in the wet, grip seemed to improve later. Would inters have been faster? I suppose they’d wear very quickly.

Teams are bringing loads and loads of aero bits to shove on the cars to get round next years token system

Drivers are having a hard time heating up the tyres. Also, did they use ice instead of asphalt for the resurface? Everyone is sliding around. We can forget about breaking record on Saturday. With this kind of pace, they won't even beat 2011 pole.

Sunday race will be funny.
