That’s clear as mud. It says “during any practice session or the race” : eg during qualifying its allowed???
Qualifying is technically part of the practice sessions. So it's covered.

Understood. But in an era where legality and loopholes are par of the course, it seems a daft way of writing things down in black and white

This may be exactly why it is worded this way.

If "qualifying practice" is enshrined in the sporting regulations, referring to it simply as "qualifying" might open other issues.

My guess is that the lawyers have already combed the vernacular used in press releases.

So, do we know if any upgrades have arrived on the W12?

I am also curious, why the RedBull upgrades haven’t seem to have impacted its general pace over a Mercedes car still lacking in ultimate pace in a direct comparison. I know the differences are minute but, when a car has ultimate pace, upgrades should technically make an impact.

That’s quite something, the fact that they closed the gap at such speed without upgrading the car, is really a scary thing. Curious to see if the Bulls upgrade, will work better here.

Huge amount of traffic early on. Teams not wasting any time.

Button said he never went through T9 here flat. I'm surprised as I thought it had been a flat corner for some time.

Bring FP1 & 2 down to 1 hour has been the best thing ever. Being old school I immediately hated the idea thinking we’d see less action, but it’s the opposite. It’s just constant on track action from start to finish. And my partner who isn’t a fan gets 30 mins back in their life. Love it.

Agreed. No more boring empty tracks for the first 20 minutes. It also adds a bit of unpredictability because the teams who are slightly off pace have less time to try and fix their issues.

Kubica's beached in the gravel. Red flag.

It does slightly annoy me they don't stop the clock in practices when there's a (minor) red flag like this one that only takes 5 minutes to sort out.
