Tell me about it. If it were Austin he might be excused for obvious reasons, but he is quite bold-faced to use such an abhorrent unit this side of the millennium. So how did things stack up at the recent Spanish GP? Here's the fastest Sector 3 times for each car in qualifying.

The question is what was the pace of Redbull through S3 when they were using their high downforce config. If I remember correctly their Friday was pretty bad when using that package, swapping to the bendy wing for Sat/Sun.

In FP1 verstappen led hamilton by half a tenth in S3. In FP2 red bulls didn't have any pace for whatever reason (P9-10) and were 1 tenth off in S3 (leclerc was fastest). In FP3 hamilton led verstappen by tenth and a half. In quali it was the other way around. So it really went back and forth from session to session. I'd say there wasn't much in it as a whole.

Plus fp2 had viable reasons for both RBR cars not being fast. It wasn’t that they were slow simply for lack of pace.
