Good assessment! In addition to not been anything to gain, the switch to Softs also carried an overcut risk… Leclerc loss 10-11 seconds to Perez on his outlap with Brand New mediums… Even though slicks ultimately were faster, it was taking a couple of laps for them to come to temperature and the track was still greasy
I do feel that the team is often quite cautious in strategy. Something that is boring when you are a midfield team, sometimes you need to take a gamble to get the big payoff.

But here it does make sense to stay out, but for example if it was Paul Ricard, it is a different story.
I more often than not trust the Team’s decisions in regards to Strategy, not only do they have way more information and tools to analyze the situation and make a decision based on it, there is a reason why the engineers in the Strategy Team get paid to make the calls… Fans have a very narrow window at the data and more often than not display their strategies with the luxury of hindsight 😁

Can the Strategy Team get it wrong? Absolutely, but I still trust their decision making.

AFAIK, Lando is definitely on the 4th and I’m pretty sure Daniel is as well.
If any of them are really only on 3 , that would be very surprising and would almost certainly result in at least another PU

Lando is on 4th Daniel is on the 3rd.
The FIA publishes a document titled "PU elements used per driver up to now" every race weekend.

I thought he took the 4th in Belgium because of what happened to the PU in Austria.. so could still be only 3 working PU's in the pool...

One of Dan's better starts in the wet. That initial launch was particularly good.

I just red that Hyundai and Ford were in talks with RedBull before Honda decided to come back and i wonder if Zak Browns connection to US could mean a possible Ford engine supply in the future, if Ford decides to join.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

There was talk of a Rear Wing been developed for the current package, not sure if it was meant for high downforce tracks or a wing that could be used in a large array of circuits… Wondering if we will see it in Japan

I think with the Aston style wing being banned next year, there’s a chance we may not see the rear wing that we had in pipeline? Hopefully PhilipM can shed some light?

I wonder how serious Ford's bid is to come back in. They were never involved when big bucks were required for engines. So I'd be sceptical in teaming up with them.

I was wondering myself tbh, might be why it was stuck in dev and didn't come with the new package if they know it's useless for setup for next year. I'll try to find out though.

Ford has a lot of ICE engineers that are about to be unneeded in their modern full-EV push.

F1 might be 200iq for them until 2035, especially if it keeps them up to date on the tech if synthetic fuels become the new standard instead of full EV.

Doesn’t look like there will be a new rear wing this weekend:
