Nothing of the sort is mentioned in the practice report, so I doubt it.

Very bad FP2 for McLaren suffering brake issues. I read they had also taken the floor apart for some reason. Alpine seemed to be going quite well. Hope McLaren can fix their issues and find pace tomorrow.
Really not sure where you got that info from, nobody from the Team, or any broadcast said anything about Macca suffering any issues, simply that they had completed their run plan and wanted to save any wet/inter tyres left for possible rain on Sunday.

Also, it was 15c* track temp with pouring rain, brake issues don’t sound very plausible
It was said on the Dutch broadcasting feed. I expect they don’t go about and spread misinformation.

Edit:
Tom Coronel (ViaPlay):
“We see them not only having problems with the brakes but they have now also completely removed the floor. It is very clear they are having issues with the car. It is certain we will not see them on track anymore for the final 15 minutes of this session. Same for Ricciardo.”

I think it was a mis interpretation from the Dutch guys, the mechanics had lifted the cars early and started work on them cause they knew that weren’t going back out for the rest of the session

Daniel certainly looks far closer on pace around here, hopefully this upgrade has helped his confidence.

Is redbull running really really heavy? VER long runs were in the 36's and lando's were in the 35's?

Long runs looked good and the car looked good in the onboards

even in delta to all the front runners, or even faster sometimes, and then lose like 5 tenths to 1 second from the exit of spoon. Huge chunk lost in the straight after spoon, and exit of chicane.

Not wrong, all of his fast laps were only a 1/10th off Lando which is great to see.

Maybe if they brought this car 6 months ago, they wouldn’t have felt the need to dump Daniel.

looking at it further the limitation seems, straight-line speed deficit, they scrub off speed in 130r and cant carry the speed into last chicane.

i dont know why they fueled for two push laps on Lando when the tyres weren't working on second run in fp sessions.

So what happens if RICs on the pace after this upgrade?

McLaren are going to find themselves in a hard place with questions to answer

I mean it could be track specific, literally every teammate is within a tenth of each other bar ver and perez

I was waiting for your reaction and it didn't dissapoint. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and just see how the weekend turns out. One dry free practice session doesn't say much. With qualifying underway the upgrade does seem to bring a bit of performance, but still no points for that. And your last remark is of course a big what if, which has no value. If they'd bring the 23 car to the last couple of races, they'dmight be frontrunners. But we all know that is not possible.
