They will have much bigger potential as works team than McLaren has. Not trying to say anything against McLaren, just that Audi on paper is bigger chance.
At one time, Toyota's chances scared everyone in the F1 paddock, but they never won anything.

McLaren boss Seidl to join Audi F1 effort

Is this for real??!
Surprising if true… I don’t know if there is anyone out there for McLaren to get into the Team as Seidl’s replacement… And even though the results are not the ones we may have wanted, the Team does feel more solid since his arrival.
If this is true... for the sake of stability would they promote someone within the team, like Andrea Stella
called it

to be honest I am completely fine with Andrea Stella taking the helm, their is no-one more deserving and prepared to take the role, he's been with the team through several phases he will continue the journey.

Big disappointment. We fail to attract good personnel, while others shop everywhere and now even take Seidl away from us

It would be very strange for Seidl to turn down a Ferrari and go on a gamble with Audi.
Why would it be a gamble with Audi ? McLaren is a small fly compared to Audi/VW money. Plus a nice kick in the Ass for saying no to them? You really think Ferrari Considered Tosh and Seidl? All kinds of rumours go around in F1 that we later hear from the source that they were never in any contact with the other party?

Well if I was McLaren I'd go after Binotto, but the list after him is going to be long. Maybe Josh from Williams ?

I can, Adrian Newey.

I have no clue, I guess if someone thinks he's good enough, why not.

We learned from Alpine's 2022, going without a team principle for the off season and spending most of the year learning about the organisation that these type people have very little impact on the car. The Car's buck stops with Key.

Indeed, but would you say its as difficult for teams to enter now as when Toyota tried?

I.e budget caps, engine freezes/penalties etc.

I wonder what ordinary team members will say about this, over a pint of beer tonight? All these press releases make it impossible to understand how soon Seidl's decision to leave the team was.

Sure I’m pissed Siedl is leaving… but really pleased Stella’s taking control

Zac is not fool, and if he thinks Andrea is up to the job, then he has my full backing. It’s always better to promote from within… try before you buy… and realistically, who else is there?

Andrea has already had a leading role in taking McLaren forward, just look at the pit team, which would have been under his control

Just remember TP does not design the car, he leads the team and makes strategic decisions. Here we have consistency and experience, 2 essential strengths McLaren require to move forward

Adrian Newey signing is not in the same league as Seidl...Seidl is no Adrian Newey. Seidl is just a good Manager. Newey was the Williams Chief engineer, at the time, that had just won more than two thirds of the constructors championships in the years he spent at Williams. James Key would have been if he was as good as Newey and he's not. Few are.

Andrea is the most deserving of this role, he is ''old school'' and yet he can move the team forward as well. He has the knowledge and the capacity to move the team to the front, we will win again - Mclaren!

They Tried to get Fellows and failed. Makes me think that he was the better one, since RBR tried harder to keep him.
