Has anyone heard more about this?
How many times has that been mentioned this season so far. If I had a £1 for every time I’d probably be able to retire and live comfortably.

They have a new rear wing that’s for certain, but don’t think I’ve seen anything else tweeted yet by the paddock media. Unless they keeping it hidden until FP

Lets hope they do not catch 'Ferrariitus' in the garage. That began with a spreading red area on the car...
…Again!!!
Painful, but recall Hockenheim in 2018(??); celebratory logo and pit clothing, but a terrible result and terrible operationally (in the pits).

There was a rumour about the PU which, of course, we won't know about until we see the cars on track and even then mostly likely not until the race itself.

Anything under the floor we won't see unless there is an on-track DNF and a camera gets close. Otherwise, most stuff will be visible once the cars get properly photographed.

Mentioned by who? The team? Or the hype train created by the press every race week? If you're listening to the team, then you'd have £3: Barcelona for the porpoising fix, Silverstone for performance, and the phase 3 upgrade for Spa that's supposedly going to show us what the engine can do. Of course all teams will be doing this, so any dramatic increase will be at least partially obfuscated. Keep in mind, a huge upgrade doesn't necessarily mean you're going to leapfrog the competition when they're trying to do huge upgrades too. Merc has been notably transparent from the start on when to expect big upgrades and they've stuck by what they've said.

Beyond that, Merc has said they'll be adding a notable amount of upgrades between now and the end of the season, but those upgrades won't be particularly visible.

Of late, JPM has suddenly become Mercedes/Hamilton fan which makes me wonder if he is trying to cozy up with Mercedes to get his son sponsored/signed. Not sure if he has insider links that reveals such information.

Unless the team tell us, we'll likely never know unless they're obviously quicker in a straight line..

They would need to take new PU elements, so that's the first indication if they were to bring an upgrade.

A bit confused why there was so much H tyre running in that session? Merc are up there being the most light-footed when it comes to deg, no? Looked like it was a struggle to get heat into them all of FP2.
Team ANTI-HYPE. Prove it, then I’ll anoint you.

Maybe they were using them whilst testing new components, thus saving the better tyres for the race?

Maybe. In my mind I was thinking testing in FP1 and knuckling-down readying for quali & the race in 2. The next pilot who ventured onto H was VET all the way down in 15th, just seems like a waste of a session running H given the temps

What would you run for the race tgough presuming it was dry? Either a short stint on the softs and medium medium or drop onto hards.
