Max Verstappen candid in exclusive interview:

"My children are allowed to race, but would do it differently than my father and I did at the time"

Milton Keynes - - Max Verstappen's long season is officially over. A period of rest and vacation has arrived, something the two-time world champion eagerly awaited. In a candid interview with De Limburger, Verstappen looks back one more time on the most successful season of his career, and looks into the future.

Monday, December 12, 2022

'An interview with De Limburger? "No! We're not going to." Max Verstappen himself laughs and beckons us to enter the Red Bull Racing team truck somewhere on a square in the middle of Milton Keynes. While 30,000 race fans outside are nickel-and-dating at the fences of the demonstration event where the driver drives his last laps of 2022, Verstappen uses the front cabin of the trailer to warm up between show runs . So no luxury hospitality today .
The Limburger thinks it's all fine. He is in a good mood and, as always, in for a joke. Especially today, because this is officially his last working day of 2022.

How happy are you about that?
Max: “It is very nice that after a long and beautiful season there is a period of rest. Enjoy doing nothing. This is also pleasant for your body. No stress for a while. We will go on holiday after Christmas, after which we can focus on next season.”

It will start again in two months. If China is replaced, a record 24 races will be completed next year.
Max: “I have often indicated that this is too much and the main reason that I will not continue to do this until I turn 40.

Honestly didn’t see something like this on the table; but given Ford is quite used to outsourcing/partnering for its motorsport technical partnerships this kind of makes some sense. They don’t want full investment, and RB still wants control. Makes more sense for them than Porsche, IMO. Interesting to see what happens with Honda too.

Confusing article. Red Bull need and ERS-K partner. Ford seem to just want a badge job.

RB and Honda will continue in 2026 and later, these are all misdirections for competitors :)
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I guess though, based on what we've heard so far, if any manufacturers join forces with Red Bull, they will then only be making the electrical component of the engine. I guess then in that aspect it wasn't really misdirection

Honda applied to come back as manufacturer in 2026, they will practically have no break as a supplier and will have Honda stickers back on RB cars. I don't feel very confident, I just present the outcome with highest chances :D

Now there is a match made in Hell. Red Bull with Ford, and Honda as the 'just a friend'

Wont work

2 things about this interview

1) Horner mentioning in jest that Seb would take half an hour to debrief the formation lap is hilarious.

2) Adrian mentioning that Seb's insane work ethic made the rest of the team work harder is fascinating and just adds new dimensions to my positive impression of Seb. People often say drivers just drive the car, but it's much deeper than that.
