Sergeant got his Superlicense so not sure why it wouldn't be him.

So it looks like Sargeant gets the nod.. I wonder if his seat was conditional based on how much sponsorship money he brings....?

You’d have thought given he is American and the growth in the sport in America, Williams would have opportunities to get more sponsors. Saying that being the 10th placed team may not help.

You’d have also thought they’d wanna bridge some of the gap from the lost money from Latifi.

Wait, Sargeant is American? You'd be forgiven for thinking he was another brit.

edit: okay, It's apparent that I've never heard him speak before  .

Well; Capito and Demaison are leaving. Not what I expected, to be honest. Seems very odd to me, unless there's more to this story than we know.

I assume Jost is going to Alfa Romeo and Vasseur is going to Ferrari.

Jost is going into retirement. He postpone it to take the Williams role. That’s what it looks loke from the article.

I don't think Jost would take another team role, but I don't think her "retired" himself, if you get my drift. If this was planned, there would have been a transition team in place, or at least a successor would be ready. And as far as I know Demaison wouldn't be ready to retire, unless he was struggling to make an impact at the team and was heavily reliant on Capito for leverage. It doesn't make a ton of sense to me, any of it.

There would be some motivation for Capito to Alfa/Sauber given his VW ties and Audi incoming, but not sure he'd want to commit to essentially a 5-year project when he was already contemplating retirement. There must have been more going on behind the scenes, either with internal politics or whatever. OR maybe Williams is about to sign a deal with Porsche or Honda and a management restructure is inbound anyways. But that's just speculation at this point.

From info I've come across 3rd hand (so take it with a grain of salt)... FX wasn't finding the speed with the FW45 and Jost wasn't happy with next year's budget.

Really bad situation if this info is to be believed. This might be the absolute end.
