After Moto3 and Moto2 GasGas is now joining MotoGP paddock as well. Tech3 team will next year run KTM bikes that will be branded as GasGas. It was also confirmed that Pol Espargaro will ride for Tech3 next year with second rider yet to be confirmed

MotoGP formally confirms sprint races for 2023 season

MotoGP organiser Dorna Sports has officially confirmed the introduction of sprint races
to the grand prix weekend format for the 2023 season.

At a press conference on Saturday morning at the Red Bull Ring headed by Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta, FIM president Jorge Viega and president of the International Race Teams Association (IRTA) Herve Poncharal, sprint races were officially unveiled.

Each sprint race will take place on Saturday of a grand prix weekend but the results will not be used to form the grid for the main race, unlike in Formula 1.

Dry track but starting to spit rain.
Quartararo quickest in a field that was showing a distinct lack of enthuisiasm due to the iminent rain.
The new sprint format may fix that and be a bit safer because of the absence of speed differential (see the Zarco , Aleix Espargaro incident yesterday)

Intrestingly the Michelin Man says they are using a carcass that is similar to the one for Indonesia because despite the 26C track temperatures here temperatures generated by the speeds here create the same need.
And the Brembo bloke reckons that the sum of the two new brakings at the chicane is more than the one high speed one at the end of the straight

A first class race with Bagnaia (Mr Smooth a la Jorge Lorenzo) flawlessly winning from a miracle ride by Fabio Quartararo on an underpowered but superbly chassised Yamaha and Jack Miller third with I suspect slightly more worn tyres as is usual for Jack.
Jorge Martin was always there and fell just near the end but kept hold of the throttle to remount and finish !0th after being there the whole race.
Lots of action down the field as well.

MotoGP is soooo much better than F1 for one reason anyway...

if there were one lap more, more shine for ElDiablo. I wonder if he is unbeatable new guy with a better bike ( probably next year's yamaha )

If this is true I will be sure about L Block engine is comming from Yamaha. Is the time remained to next season enough to build this much different engine ?

The lack of testing certainly hasn’t helped Honda this year, with a very different motorcycle and just a few days of testing to get the bike right.

Less testing didn't helped yes, but in that less tests, honda bike worked well, even in first race then fall down back of grid.

It also doesn't help to have a rider that is just not fit enough and 3 riders who aren't sure about their future with team/manufacturer. And then every single one of them pulling in their own direction with Honda having tested so many different configurations this year.

I feel their drastically new bike is a right thing to do and that it is going in right direction. It is just that this year is super competitive and grid is packed so tight that any small performance related problem suddenly makes you look like a back marker instead of fighting for podiums.
