The DRS line for the Alpine is a little confusing, it opens then closes a little bit?

AMuS figures put the Merc PU about 4kw behind the Renault PU.

The problem is with the other two manufacturers.

To pull it back to the subject of the thread; I don't think it's controversial to say drag is a big limitation on this year's orange car. If this package cut it successfully, that'd just be a massive gain in itself. I'm excited to see how it works out tomorrow.

One of the biggest changes in the MCL36 for France comes in the floor, with a new “Tunnel” developed in front of the rear tires to help manage the tire squirt from going into the diffuser

According to Gary Anderson, the changes to the sidepods are intended to facilitate this change in the floor.

Was this in the provided list of upgrades? Because the profile of the entrance looked the same from side angles in TV. I don't think much if anything was changed there.

If you compare these pictures, the floor entrance looks higher / bigger to me... Maybe just my imagination... :D

I'm not sure but imo the entry seems very similar

I think the main upgrade is the diffuser which is higher (compared to the suspension arm position) and possibly stiffer because the steel bracing is now limited to the side edge of the floor

Quick comparison of previous package versus the one debuted in France:

Even though the concept is following the trend in terms of managing the airflow from the top of the sidepods, as well as increasing the volume laterally to help manage front tire wake… McLaren still keeps the no undercut on the sidepods concept and is bringing it’s own unique solutions to the floor treatment.

Not sure if I'm seeing things, but to me it looks like the nosecone is shorter. Not sure if that is the case, or even if that was the case in France.

It's definitely different from the French spec nose (below), it seems to have a smoother profile.
