McLaren MCL36

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Compared to Monaco.. the rear has one less kick, it now blends out. no step in the front portion compared too most of the other teams..

Changes to the floor and sidepod internals I've heard so far for the updates, trying to find out exactly what and what else.

They’ll need it, supposedly Alpine are bringing a ‘massive step in downforce’ of a floor🤪
Just a fan's point of view

Okay there's an Aston-style rear wing rolling out of development too but if that's only just there then I can't see it being at Singapore - they usually take a few weeks on the manufacturing floor at least. Maybe just for testing for 2023.

Ahhh yes, could be possible, the team has been doing a lot of aero testing in fp1 with csp test etc. for next year, wouldn’t be surprised if it’s fitted to a car for half a session. Most interested in the floor, I feel the team have been relatively tame on the underfloor, and floor fence’s development over the season, wonder if it was in exchange for a greater lead time on total development of the overall floor package.

As always appreciate the insight.

Bit of a pity as I think Singapore would be a good place for using a wing like that, but I guess budget and time rules all things.

Can`t be that difficult. If it brings downforce make the two pieces in a 3D printer and glue it one the normal endplate. It`s a one man two day job I guss?

New front wing (conventional main plan and flap layout and therefore also another enplate area). Based on that twitter pictures.

Mirror Mounts, Floor edge changes (large cut out at rear), Venturi entry looks different, sidepod ramp goes far further back

Big upgrades wow. Sidepods certainly going further towards the RB approach.

The new splitter seems again unconventional. Maybe they've found a way to exploit their unique t-tray which feeds above the floor
