The years of domination means nothing in completely new era.
I can see them behind some cars.
That’s an uncluttered Mclaren front suspension set-up!
Ferrari may be using the steering arm as "flap" for the wishbone and vice versa. Recalling that the air is being upwashed by the front wing and doesn't hit the suspension at zero angle of incidence, even though the suspension arms have to be neutrally cambered.
McLaren claim its for aero reasons but I have also heard that the pull rod lowers the Center of Gravity which sounds like its more mechanical reason than Aero.LM10 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2022, 19:37I’m asking myself if McLaren have changed their suspension layout radically because of aero or mechanical reasons in the first place?
Actually, Key’s comments are that the changes to the suspension are unrelated to aero, they focused on the suspension before they could focused on aero (during the 2020 season)… The aero followed the suspension philosophy and not the other way aroundsendit wrote: ↑23 Feb 2022, 07:50McLaren claim its for aero reasons but I have also heard that the pull rod lowers the Center of Gravity which sounds like its more mechanical reason than Aero.
