I don't think the "cancel" culture should have a place in F1.

It's a bit of a stretch to call that cancel culture.

I know F1 had still races in countries that were at war or had military conflict nearby but is this the first time that's happened on the European continent?
Not the first time. From March to June 1999, a war was fought on European soil in which the whole of NATO took part. No race in those countries has been canceled. I'm just saying.
NATO got involved to stop a genocide. That's not a reason to cancel races.

Russia has invaded another country for no reasons other than it wants the territory and control of the Black Sea.

That's why the Russian GP should be dropped.

For some, it's hard to recognize the difference between an invasion and... Just Passing By.
(ok, that deserves a 5s time penalty)

But yeah, this is rather an unprecedented situation. There seem to be talks on replacing Russia with Turkey. Not the most democratic, either, but at least not actively invading others..

No. No one else will get involved in any meaningful military way. That's why Putin's gone in, after all.

And wow, that website is heavily right wing. Or "conservative" as I believe it's known these days.

China disagrees that's an "invasion", so they might "not invade" Taiwan either

That is true, but it's unlikely that China will actively get involved militarily in Ukraine. They might see their own opportunities, and if time comes, those will need to be evaluated in and of itself (together with active digressions of human rights by the country - but that has never seemed to be a big issue for F1. We could scrap half the calendar if it was).

China can do what it likes. It makes so much of the world's goods that it is almost untouchable by financial sanctions.

The US can rattle a carrier group around the place but any half decent modern sub would soon put paid to that.

True - I was looking here at the tickets site tickets.formula1.com. The calender there is jumping from Monza straight to Singapore.

Maybe they just decided they don't want to sell tickets for the race anymore. Perhaps, in Russian style, one can just enter the track without authorization.

It should be cancelled and never go back.
