Mercedes should be in the game or slightly behind. Vertical oscillations on this track should be more suspension-related than aero-related
It was the bumps in Baku that started the merc bouncing, as witnessed round the chicane before the pit straight.
Wait and see

You do realise that you get the points on Sunday.

Hmm. Maybe you could interpret his comment as "Wait (until Sunday) and see."

I'd rather interpret it as "Wait (until 2023) and see"

I am guessing, pole should be in high 1:38s or low 1:39s. The pole in 2019 was 1:36.217.

Bottas finally seems to come up with what everyone expected from Alfa in Monaco already. Really strong lap, and set much earlier than everyone else

unless Ferrari is running higher engine mode, this is what they would look like without the TD.

both Mercedes had to abort their best lap, Verstappen didn't set one at all. Leclerc may top this by a second now, but no idea what it's really worth

edit: no, not a good lap from him either

On the basis of long runs, the race doesn't look like completing all the scheduled laps in race within 2 hours.

On a laptime basis or because of yellows?

The laps in the new cars are about 4s slower than. 2019 I believe I heard commentators say.

60 laps (final one gets added on top anyway) at 1:50 still leave 10 minutes to play with, though, and normally cars should get quicker in the end. But sure, if there are a couple of safety cars (or even rain), it's unlikely to work out.

I think pole is 1'41.800".

These cars just don't have the turn-in of the hydraulic Magic Carpets of 2019.

Oddly, after watching P1 and 2, I would expect lots in the AM and the McL can be found in the diff and pre-load settings. They need a bit of snap-bite on the inside rear wheel to induce rotation. I would tie it to engine RPM on the downshift, and only 4th gear and lower.

there's a little mistake in there. Norris' lone "longrun"-lap was on softs, not hard.

Did you mean a 1.40.8?
