15:13 Carlos Sainz is already sixth, thanks to a 1:26.516. More than 15 laps already for the man from Madrid
15:05 Sainz is improving, let's see if he advances positions

15:37 Fair to say Fernando Alonso is very happy with his first day in the Aston Martin car: “When I signed, I was 90% happy. When they finished the season strongly, I was 100%. This morning, I was 100%, now I’m 100 plus!” – We’ll have the full story on site very shortly.

15:34 Verstappen is already in the top 10, although just in tenth place. 1:27.053 for the Dutch

15:32 We will leave you here and on our social networks all of Alonso's statements, but there are some very curious ones. He says that he was concerned about the engine mileage, as it was "a lot by my usual standards." Indirect to Alpine/Renault? facts

15:30 Lewis Hamilton is also on the track with the Mercedes that Russell had driven during the first hours

Are they allowed to run test parts here?

I’m guessing now, but if teams have run 2023 parts during the 2022 season they may be allowed?

They could technically use a part they tested during the season I believe. But Pirelli is in control of the test since it’s a tyre test and they want a consistent platform so the teams would be stuck with whatever spec car they bring for the whole test afaik

1645: Approaching the final hour of track time, and Max Verstappen has ruined Ferrari’s stranglehold at the top (not for the first time this year). Verstappen pops in a 1:25.845 on his 54th lap of the track, and rises to third on the timing screens to demote Shwartzman to fourth.

1625: Lance Stroll has improved the time of Alonso, who falls to fifth place. A 1:26.263 from the Canadian leaves the two Aston Martins fourth and fifth

1600: It’s a Ferrari 1-2-3 at the top as Carlos Sainz pops his F1-75 to the front with a 1:25.245 – he’s taken over from Leclerc on tyre testing duties.

Leclerc is second, with Robert Shwartzman third as he continues with Ferrari’s Young Driver running.

1550: Hamilton is starting to find his feet this afternoon – he’s up to P9 and has just finished his 15th lap of the session. Out of the top 10, just he and Lando Norris are on track.

1745: Ferrari have reasserted themselves at the front, as Shwartzman claims back third place to make it a 1-2-3 again. The three Ferrari drivers times range from 1:25.2 to 1:25.4, so it looks like they’re getting the most out of the car…

1730: No change at the front as the top four remain the same, but Logan Sargeant has just put in an impressive time to slot into P5 right behind Albon! He’s up to 82 laps in total, and his time is 0.104 slower than Albon’s.

1710: Into the final hour of F1 2022, and Alex Albon has joined in the fun at the front as he’s popped into fourth with a 1:25.959. That means Shwartzman is down to fourth, just ahead of Stroll and Alonso.

He's still in it, with a bit of good fortune it finally works out for him and he gets a somewhat competitive car.

Its not like daddy Stroll isn't trying anything and everything to get competitive.
