Out of curiosity. Mclaren seem to be a draggy car. Less than last year but still draggy. How does the floor help reduce drag?

I'm sure he can put a fast lap on, the game is doing consistently lap after lap. But on pure speed this is a very good qualy.
Thats what is exciting about him - his carrier in feeder formula have never been about one lap pace, the guy is a tactician and thinker in the Prost mould
I personally have no doubt he's top dollar but time will be the judge in the end.

Exciting times though!

Exactly the improvement I expected. Good lap from PIA. Don’t think there was much left. 1.29.2 is not bad at all. Well done Oscar. Improved exactly in the areas expected. Can’t ask for more

More efficient underfloor downforce means you can carry more speed through the corners or reduce wing size and be faster on the straights.

8th place start.

That's not bad.

I think James Key mentioned it.
Significant chunk.
Which could mean many things, but doesn't mean huge.

Definately much better the car behaved in Saudi Arabia than Bahrain. Australia will be even better.

Considering we are 2 hundredths of a 7time world champ in a Mercedes, I’d say nice recovery boys.
If only Lando-Nado hadnt decided to try bumper cars, we could have put Hamilton in a Macca sandwich

Alonso is faster than Perez, but his car isn't.

It’s not gonna happen. The RedBull is to good on race pace.

Pretty great quali. Damn shame about Lando, but seeing Piastri get into Q3 exceeded my expectations. The gaps are super tight, so I'm hoping we get to see some tasty race craft from the drivers tomorrow.

So, those start of season predictions that the car was only better than the Williams have proved wrong.

Think very similar to Alpine behind the top 4. And ahead of the others.

A few tenths can see a big jump though.

Well since you suggested that bring slowest on the straights was aero related, I suspect it is obvious already you were *hurling* yourself at conclusions

🤣🤣🤣
McLaren and in 3 practice the slowest on the straights.
Not bad from the number two driver in the car with the poor aero

And clearly not the slowest car on the straights !

On this occasion you're UnLucky 😁
The aerodynamics are bad, it's a brick.

About Q3, I was wrong.
