Pre season testing live?

I have no issues with the reduced test schedule. I remember vividly staring at a single car going round doing constant speed runs whilst all the other cars are in the pits for long extended periods of time. I like the idea of having to be prepared and a general sense of jeopardy if you are not

I really don't get why every lap/run/match in any sport is supposed to excite fans. Pre-season event is just that - pre-season. It's meant for preparation but I guess 23 races is not enough for us.
