Nextgen-Auto - Alpine

Not the same angle, but this shows the big differences in the wishbones height and layout, the front wing and nose design etc.

I'm impressed. The slide in the 2022 sidepod looks harsh. The slide in the 2023 sidepod looks more coherent and streamlined. It just sits in the sidepod a lot of better.

The rear wing is very spooned for these new cars. Feel like I haven't seen a rear wing have a similar shape yet

I think we will be seeing it another car soon...the one that only has the low res photos.

Fuel is supplied by bp, castrol supplies grease and oil
bp owns Castrol Lubricants, its the same company.

Don't buy into my tubercles theory?

The waterslides on this year's alpine look very refined. I'm surprised they reverted the sidepod inlets to start of '22 design though given almost everyone else is opting for high/wide inlets like they developed towards last year. Maybe we'll see them change at testing and this is just a placeholder

Except pushrod (green), rear suspension is similar. Small span top wishbone, swept forward lower leading arm (blue), separated driveshaft + rear arm (orange) & track rod (red)
This also shows how much slimmer the car got around the smaller centerline cooling system (purple)

Thanks to the pushrods, that gearbox blister that held the pullrod rocker has probably disappear, so the bodywok can be shrinkwrapped further in that area, offering more & cleaner space for the airflow towards diffuser, bringing 58008 seconds per lap.
Amongst other benefits.
This also made this part of the car lighter according to Harman. He confirms the car is under the minimum weight and will have plenty of ballast to play with.

[Speculation] Maybe Alpine replaced that '22 intercooler by one of those 3d printed & rounded next-gen ones. #Reaction_Engines
This could explain many things*.
Or not.

[my original '22 drawing was also speculative, because the pictures were scarce back then]
Image

It could explain the slimmer neck and the disappearance of the small blister that surrounded the old intercooler + part of the weight & performance gains etc.

Did you mean didn't ?

They actually changed them. They're still very boxy, like they were at the end of 2022. The top corners of the inlet are still 90 degrees but the bottom outer corners are now greater than 90 degrees, forcing the bottom inner corners to less that 90 degrees and a slight slant in the bottom of that inlet.

I got confused at how they developed their sidepod inlets. No longer surprised by their development choice here

The A523 and the AMR23 look very similar from the sidepod inlets back (excluding the inlets themselves that are different).
