Apologies for the somewhat off topic but just trying to decide if I want to get the F1 live timing app for testing (and the whole season) I know it doesn’t give live race coverage as Sky have exclusive TV rights here in the UK.

Does anyone know though apart from archive stuff and live timing does the £20 UK subscription include post practice/quali/race highlights and the Jolyon Palmer analysis and the Sam Collins/Albert Fabrega tech stuff?
Worth ‘living/working abroad’ for the full coverage.

Personally I find F1TV coverage a lot better than sky, just sky has a bit better post race where the interview, so watch sky live then drop back onto the post race show on F1Tv to catch up.
Sky want £18pm for SSF1 or £20pm for full SS, I only watch F1 though and don’t really wanna pay that much or commit to 18 months of it!
Are you suggesting getting a vpn and subscribing to F1TV Pro? It’s crossed my mind but don’t know how much hassle it is

Given Alonso wants as much time in the car as possible, seems odd not to turn Stroll being out into a positive by giving Fernando extra running. Seems weird to have Drugovich out there who isn’t racing and will surely give less beneficial feedback than the most experienced F1 driver of all time.

A VPN is only way you can get the live coverage on F1Tv in the U.K.

It’s a bit fiddly to get set up initially given payments but worth it.

Fair enough but he was complaining about not having enough time to acclimatise to a new team’s car - which will inevitably feel different to the alpine - so seems odd (to me anyway).

Yeah, it’s been reported as minor but maybe there’s a real risk STR isn’t ready for opening; the prudent thing to do is to give DRU time in the car. I’d wager they’re just covering all bases

[/quote]

It definitely seems some cars are displaying some sort of porpoising, but nowhere near as aggressive as it was at the start of 2022. Also, seems to only be more noticeable in certain areas, mainly on the final straight prior to the main straight it seems to be more obvious, primary on the Red Bull, Ferrari and Haas. There's been some bouncing, however that is more likely to track characteristics (ie, the massive bump that is evident on the approach for Turn 1).

Keep in mind, it is testing. Teams might be running the cars as low as possible to find the limits before it occurs and what not. Also, its day 1 of a 3 day test... so a lot of settings and combinations of setups to test, so naturally things will be close to their limits.
