I’m somewhat surprised to see both Ferraris start to claw back the McLarens on the Hard tyres. Not sure if they’re pushing more now and if the few laps on fresher rubber has helped, but even so… barring any safety car scenarios I think they’ve locked in 3rd and 5th… cannot see them getting past either McLaren’s given slight lack of top speed.

The car desperately needs more efficiency in straight line. The tyre management is very good, but it does not amount to much if you can't get past competition.

Charles basically needs Lando's tyres to straight up die to overtake.

S1 is killing us. Leclerc will end up at P4.
No, he won’t.
You're right.

I was afraid that he will get in Leclercs DRS

Looks like I was mistaken… Lando just conserving his tyres and now going for it. Maybe Charles damages the car cutting the Chicane? Lap times don’t look too different from Charles side, but Norris looks like he just found another gear.

Lot of work to do to reel in McLaren and Red Bull now… you’d have to consider Ferrari 3rd in the pecking order moving forward.

Looks like Charles did a relatively poor job clearing the lapped cars.

1.25 tenths/lap to Max and he pushed to the end. Improvement from 3-4 tenths. Great work, on a track that suits better who knows.

The tyre deg advantage kicks in so late into the stint that everyone pits at the time anyway. Like 20+ laps in.

The "we will be fighting for the win" bravado looks just silly now.
Pace differential is about a tenth between the top 3 teams. They are incredibly close now and I'd assume the margin of error in pre-race simulations is larger than a tenth.

Not a bad race, good pace on Hards, Leclerc pushing to the limit and a slight understeer cost him a bit. I guess he slowed down and cruised afterwards.

Sainz was a bit slower than expected this weekend. Strategy was ok, worth waiting a bit to see if there's a V/SC period. Good points haul, not maximised again, bit now that all 3 teams are closer it won't be possible to maximise everywhere like first 4 races

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Couldn’t have gone much different. As I wrote yesterday, nobody is passing here. Sainz unable to shake off PIA cost him position in the end, but MCL was strong here anyway.

Car is there, it’s not too bad and hopefully they can develop it further.

Norris was absolutely going to pass Verstappen if there were 2-3 more laps.

No, he wouldn’t have. If there were 2-3 more laps his tires were going to die off. He was already doing a lot of control to keep it on track in s1, wasn’t going to last.

Race pace was strong, stronger than it looked in the end. Leclerc was closing in on Norris and pushed a little bit too much. After his small mistake the tires were out of window and didn’t recover anymore.

Leclerc seemed happy in the post-race interview and confirmed their race pace was strong. He said that it bodes well for the rest of the season.
