McLaren MCL39 Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I think they've got a red bull like outlet at the rear suspension . I've seen it looks like that from a few different angles

Seems like curved sidepod inlet? Don't recall that on MCL 38

Yes it's like a P shape

Hard to tell a lot with that Camo livery.

Could you put up a comparison shot with the MCL 38?

How does the suspension geometry compare? Seeing as that’s the only real thing that you can tell from that picture

There is a large open area in front of rearwing, engine cover starts more fat than last yead but ends a lot sooner leaving clear space behind

It's like they maintained the philosophy they established with the Miami spec MCL38, but tried to fuse into it whatever they thought were the best ideas from the competitors last season.

It's a mix of MCL38, RB20, SF24 and W15.

EDIT: The camo livery is definitely messing with the depth perception though. At some angles the sidepods look similar to the MCL38 and at some other angles they seem quite a bit different.
