Which can explain why the minute gap.... they had extra fresh tyres to pull away!!!
How is this possible? Why did they have more tires than others? Was it on purpose?
Someone in the garage screwed up. They had 6 sets for the day and that is enough to have fresh tyres for every stint. My guess is since they let each driver do one run in quali (3 sets) and then used 4 sets in the race they ended up using 7 by mistake. In reality they could have just let Verstappen do quali on his own with 1 or 2 sets since he was several seconds faster than the competition and his teammates.
Though I doubt Max will shed any tears over missing out on the "Barbarossa prize" This was a general repetition for the 24h and they got the experience they wanted in that sense.

This Christophe Haase guy that Max raced against in the beginning, is he a good driver? I have heard he is a Nordschleife specialist who has raced there his whole career.
This was a general repetition for the 24h and they got the experience they wanted in that sense.
