I got acouple of questions guys..I got myself a new laptop as my other one was getting old and the home computer is mostly used by my dad. So here are the questions.
I downloaded some television shows on to my hard drive..does anybody know of any programs and/or websites that show how to burn the television shows to dvd's so that it can play on any dvd player?
I also want to start playing one of those racing sims on the laptop that was in a thread awhile ago...I just want to know which racing sims have the 2006 f1 season as mods that you can use and play against other people online?
Also how do you guys do those gif's that come video footage..anybody have any websites that show how to do it?

I use
TMPGEnc. Use this to compress into MPEG2 (m2v + wav) then use their own DVD Author to master the thing & make the menus.
Or you could try Premiere Elements. You could already have it as it's bundled with many things, eg Nokia Nseries phone. I got mine from buying a hardware MPEG box. Didn't even run, gave up. These days I'm either using TMPGEnc on Windows, or iMovie on Mac.

Rfactor is the prime sim for your online racing needs. But it takes a bit of power to make it run decently.

I would suggest you download the demo and try it on your laptop to test compatibility. If you can make it work, then you can join an avid community with many different classes and fierce online competition.
If you're unsure of your computer's hardware and capabilities, just download the program from

For converting I'd suggest powerdirector
http://apps.katz.ws/search/powerdirector
You can pick some other simple converter here
http://apps.katz.ws/search/mpeg+converter
To make gif out of movies you need to convert mpeg, wmv or some other format movie into gif. That is no problem since there are converters but with simple converter you can't trim movie so you must use some more advanced program like powerdirector to trim section of the movie you'd like to have in animated gif, than save it as a new file and convert with mpeg to gif or avi to gif converter.

*forget links below "Fast Affordable Downloads from Fullreleases"
I usually first convert movie into uncompressed AVI than open it in Corel Photo Paint and than trim it, resize, enhance, change frame duration etc.
Most of the gifs I've made are less than 100 KB. Simple converting from typical movie format would make a huge file since 1 second of movie = 24 frames while most of the gifs I've made have less than 20 frames. So it is tricky and takes patience and a lot of experimenting.
this one is 90KB
Another thing, use DVD -R
