Could you post a close up of the front wheel cover, I am interested in seeing the differences and this seems to have one minor odd feature to it...

During testing they are running a huge turning vane connecting the sidepod shield directly to the barge boards. I think it works to redirect the flow and help it stay attached to the sidepod. Interesting that they have the part, but chose not to launch the car with it attached.

Also, the front rim fairing/shield has a few different versions that change the outlet 'slit'. One version has the outlet only a quarter of the way up the wheel and another version has it going all the way up to about 11' o'clock. Hard to describe, but I've seen it in high-resolution pictures from testing.

Also, the Viking horns have been very carefully sculpted into some interesting shapes at the leading edge.

Anyway, the launch pics are worthless now as the BMW has a lot of aero tricks and they are trying quite a few different configurations during the testing, so keep your eyes peeled.

Thanks for that bar555, anyone would like to comment, that is a VERY odd looking wheel cover in my opinion...

Indeed a new design never seen before .

BMW is pushing evolution to the limit by coping and evolving others teams projects (viking horns, wheel rim sheilds, front wing, nose cone) and designing new parts also (T-Wings,sidepod vanes, rear bodywork).

Even though the title of this post is Photo Comparison between F1.08 - F1.07 , i decided to compare F1.08 nose cone to Mc Laren's MP4/20 2005 also , because Tomba referred to this resemblance

Image

I think that F1.O8 nose is somehow thinner at its end compared to the MP4/20 , but generally the similarities are obvious .

This one is somewhat thinner (if you disregard the keels) :

This is an image of MP4/19B and this type of nose was used only in Monza in 2004 .

MP4/19 and MP4/19B had a "crocodile nose" except Monza .

Indeed MP4/19B Monza spec nose is even closer to the F1.08 nose .

Keep it up Modbaraban

F1.08 have similar front wing to Mc laren MP4/22 during winter testing .

Also F1.08 is not using till now the nose cone hole . Maybe it is not needed during winter cold tests or the new car has a different nose-cockpit cooling philosophy . Time will anwser this......
