The long straights meant that most teams used low downforce setups, with only some leaning towards medium setups.

Also, Fuji was also a rather low-downforce setup - just not this year in the rain.

I also think Fuji would need similar downforce level as indianapolis, being a half straight / half twisty track too. But indy has no quick turn (appart for the banked one), and Fuji has turn 4, which is taken at approx. 260km/h. This one needs reasonable DF level I'd say.

I'd say Bahrein and Spa are on the very low side of the "medium downforce list", while Hockenheim and Magny-cours are on the top, in terms of DF demands.

The banked turn is taken flat-out with far less downforce anyway, so it's inexistent when downforce is considered.

At the same time, the faster corner at Fuji, I suspect, while obviously a consideration, shouldn't be much of a problem either, considering it's still a 1.5km straight we're looking at...

Yes, the circuit's resemblance to Monaco is striking - and it's even set near a marina as well!

I had the same reaction first, but, as discussed on the Valencia-the track thread, the track is much wider and straights seems longer too.

The Valencia track is a fair bit longer than Monaco I believe, and definately wider. So when comparing the track layouts you should scale up the Valencia track-map, like this:

As usual, I could of course be completely wrong. :)
