SHARK TAIL FIN
Image

Since Winter testing
The tail fin is actually more to do with the cross section of the rear impact structure and the flow coming up and around it from the diffuser.
The flow out the back of an F1 car is near vertical, the open top of the diffuser is beneath this fin. The diffuser flow joins the upwards flow through the rear wing. Thus a more aerofoil\teardrop shape to the crash structure eases the flow around the structure

Is the extension on the front wing (flat+curved part in front of the tyre) perforated? Or is it just an effect of the light on carbon?

That's just some unpainted carbon fibre.

The RB4 wing with slotted upper palne is a masterpiece. I'm so frustrated such creativity would be outlawed next year :(

Does the 'v' shaped notch add downforce, and is it linked to the 'shark fin'?
