I am no expert on model aircraft but i do know allot about aerofoils, being a professional aerodynamicist! NACA aerofoils are a good start and you can easily get coordinates for them. You may find others at that site too.

You want something with high lift and low drag so you will want a laminar flow aerofoil. A model aircraft will be working at very low reynolds numbers. Symmetrical aerofoils are simple to make and have minimal drag, a NACA 0012 or 0015 might work if you incline it to the oncoming flow by 2-3degrees. Alternatively a cambered NACA aerofoil like a 63-415 might work well. Hope that helps a bit. It really depends on allot of factors such as the wing chord, taper ratio etc. If you give me a few more details i might be able to help more.

There's a program called Instant Modeler by Upperspace that is discontinued but still available at different retailers on the net, costs $16>$25,it has 90+ airfoils, a CAD type program that prints out plans, by the same company that does TurboCAD (IMSI) I've just found a retailer in the US:

if you only want it to glide for a few seconds you dont really need an airfoil. A flat sheet with some angle of attack will glide

there is a series of naca profiles which are called laminar profiles, Many hangliders are using then. I think they are the 6th and 7th series. See this link for an intro http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NACA_airfoil .
You should choose one profile from that series.

ill give a few of the rules ive learnt.
-fly for at least 5 seconds
-hand launched
-must fly ( cant be a projectile ) and must compramise of an aerofoil wing and tail

it also needs to have an undercarrige than can be retractable powered by electrical actuation.

one point of hand launched, they said you could get the strongest person who will launch it the quickest to do it, but then surley there is a chance the wing could stall??

As for the size well thats upto us to work out.
