Another question for ye to help me out on if ye dont mind

Inboard suspensions - Why do they use them? Is it simply for the obvious aerodynamic advantage? Or do they have other advantages also?

The reason i ask is i have a model of the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 and when i was looking at it i noticed how they used inboard suspension on the rear even though it was under the engine cover and i couldn't see any aerodynamic adantage to it. since then ive noticed a lot of GT cars mount them inboard and i was just wondering.. well.. why?

On a road car where there aren't any real aero reasons to do it, you still might have an easier job packaging an inboard suspension, and you can use the rockers to change the motion ratio, which might be helpful. The weight distribution is also different (less unsprung mass, mass closer to the CG, possibly lower). Often though it's probably done for marketing reasons.
