During the third and final day of the young drivers test at the Spanish circuit of Jerez de la Frontera, Ricciardo in his Red Bull was the fastest man on track. The youngster was followed by di Resta in the Force India car and the McLaren with Paffett behind the wheel.

So if the cables are only meant to reduce wing flex it means that it was the cheap way out of designing a new front wing which allows less flex (for now).
Although the bulge seems a bit too complex to just be holding the cables in place.

Yes. It apparently measures tension.
Maybe they are finding out how much weight they can shave from that thing. Or maybe there's moment that is twisting the wing they still haven't enough grip on.

Our Aussie guy Daniel is the real deal - hope he gets a shot at F1 down the track hes doing the hard yards................
The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men die like dogs - there's also the negative side' - Hunter S Thompson
Daniel is publicly saying he's aiming for a test role with the Red Bull team. i think he's a year or two off F1 yet.
Di Resta and Soucek have been the two to impress me the most so far. both seem to deserve a shot at an F1 seat in 2010.
