hey guys my name is matthew and im apart of the f1 in schools program and want some help in making the best car possible.

Hi Matthew there is one problem with your design that i can see is that the dimples you have in the front wing the ones that are on an angle in the edge fillet wont be able to be machined by the normal CNC machine used by the competitors of F1 in schools because it machines straight down from the top when you machine the top of the car. The only way that you will be able to machine this is with a 4th axis machine which rotates the car as it is machining.

I clicked on one of your links to view the picture. It requires registration at FileFactory before I can see it. Load the pictures somewhere like Flikr & post the link to the picture like this {img}your picture irl{/img} but use [ & ] brackets (if I used them here then it would confuse this site's php).

This is not a place to come to to get the work done for you. Go carefully through the original thread about this topic and consider the design principles given there. Then apply those to your design. Then show us your revised design and ask particular questions about SPECIFIC parts of your design where you are having difficulty applying the fundamental advice given in the other thread.
If your revised design is similar to basizland's design you will get very curt posts here. This is a project for you to apply your mind to the problem - all you will get here is help with the principles - no detailed design.

All i want are printables.
I'm not asking you to design my car, I'm asking you to tell me what I can do to make it better. If I am given a printable I can try to incorporate it into my design. I'm just trying to see if anyone has any other ideas.

F=M*A is the principle.
A similar one is V=IR. I will expand this for you, you come back with the same for the first one.
V=volts. We are issued with a specific quantity for this project.
I=Amps. Fundamentally the challenge is to maximise this.
R=resistance. To maximise the amps using a specific amount of volts we need to minimise this. The limiting case is reducing R to zero which maximises I at infinity.
That is the simplistic fundamentals you are dealing with. In the real world many other factors come into play but they do so by coming into that equation in some way or other. Knowing that you have the criteria to evaluate the likely effectiveness of your proposals.

Well, flameracing, you could check the pictures posted in this thread and the comments made about the previous design. I apologize because of the lack of useful comments, ehem, I hope somebody with more knowledge of aerodynamics than me takes the time. I'm posting this to bump the thread to the top of the list of current threads. You could also try to send a PM to the people that contributed the most to this thread.

@flameracing: I feel sorry for you when I see that you didn't got the kind of replies you expected to get. I was on holidays the last couple of days so I couldn't answer earlier. I already wondered if it's fair to help basizeland so much because there are many other people who attempt to the competition and don't get any support from somewhere. Of course basizeland was very clever to post here and managed to attract a few people to help him by showing how passionate he is about it. Now I see this forum running in some kind of problem because we have to decide if it is fair to help anybody here and it's possible that more and more people will make threats like this one. The mods will have to decide that or one of our judges. I think at least one is also reading this site. At least I am impressed that the only useful answer to your thread came from basizeland himself until now. As for me I will of course help both of you as long as you keep doing your own work.´
About your car: I like your font wing especially the smooth transition to the tunnel section. It’s good to see that you use big radii there.
I am not sure what to think about those winglets on the edge of the front and rear wing. They might reduce drag but on the other side they might be to small for this on the rear wing or disturb the flow around the front wheels. I recommend making a flow simulation with and without them.
What I definitely don’t like are your side pots. Basizeland had the same ones and I never liked them there also. Now on your car it looks like you simply copied them. Try to get your own design there. I recommend looking at some pictures of non F1 race cars and think of the best way to guide air around the tyres.
You should also get some tool to develop your car. Either CFD or smoke or whatever comes to your mind. Maybe you can just blow some wind on your car and measure the air resistance of your car directly by a scale. This could be done together with some smoke to make vortices visible.
Now we have seen nice designs and even some CFD results on the other treath but I haven’t seen jet how you draw some conclusions from the coloured pictures you get there. I don’t know how your judges think about this but I would like to see logical development steps based on test results.
