McLaren MP4-26 Mercedes

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Something like this? http://www.f1technical.net/development/216

Also, have the sidepods been moved a lot more forward?

Thanks a lot. I was about to ask if someone could provide screenshot. There's no Unity for Linux Firefox.

I'd be surprised if that were the contours of actual MP4-26.

The front wing seems pretty high and "solid"...what's going on?

"Curved" rear wing flap? Or maybe it's just the tarpaulin?

I'm willing to bet 100 euro!!!... just kidding

This looks like a car with wheel arches. I doubt this is the 26 under the covers.
The rear wheel diameter is bigger than the fronts and the roll hoop is lower than the rear wing.

This must be one of their toy cars that will go on sale in the mclaren shop.
For Sure!!

That has had as much F1 design input as the Red Bull X1.

It is a rather good audition for the next batman film.

It is not a wheel arch, they would be illegal under the regs. It's an extended brake duct ;)

Also, you don't need side pods to get rid of waste heat when you have HERS combined with an ESRU gear box and advanced nanotechonlogy bodywork generating a Gebhart factor geater than 1
