Could some one help me out with what airfoil sections are used in the front wing.. Apart from the restricted bit that is... It's for my masters project.. I'm currently trying to go with a GAW-1... Help would be much appreciated.. Thank you...

Teams generally have their own optimized profiles but I guess low reynolds number/high lift airfoils.

well the project is actually the optimization of a front wing. But i need a base airfoil to begin with.. Thanks...

Im afraid I cant help there. The GAW 1 isnt too bad, i think a few teams did use it maybe in the 80's so you have a good base there.

Does it really matter what airfoil profile it is? Never going to be an exact, current F1 spec profile anyway.

If this is for your Masters degree, I would think it much more important that the thought process and project structure be good, as well as the actual computational approach and validation. The specifics of whether it's a Benzing or NACA profile or what have you isn't really critical I wouldn't think.

Check this out:

You can make multiple profile wings also.
