From a few (very crappy) youtube videos it sounds like a V10. Any connection to Sunred who used the V10 Judd in their race car?

The Dodge Viper is a V10-powered sports car made by the Dodge division of Chrysler

later version with a V8 exist - IIRC, at least as racing versions, not sure if there was ever a road car with a V8.

It actually looks good and it sounds pretty good. compared to the Veyrons weight and horse power for example one would tink it would break its record easily

If it makes you feel better it was originally a truck engine.

WOW!! hold on, the viper is an amazing car and its v10 is awesome!! yes, it came from a truck, but the latest version is amazing! I got to drive one, and it will (and has) put many cars of greater value and power to shame!

back on topic: this spanner or whatever is called looks really nasty... the gumpert is a work of art compared to this.

Yup, it looks like some other Japanese brand decided to build a supercar...

It doesn't have the Passiòn (olé) I would expect from a spanish model.

You got it backwards
Dodge was the first to develop a modern V10 engine, originally designing a version of its LA series small block for use in trucks. However, the engine saw its first production use in substantially revised form in the Dodge Viper. The original truck version of the engine was eventually used starting in 1994 in the Dodge Ram...

...European marques were slower to adopt the V10 configuration. However, high-revving V10 power-plants were incorporated into super-cars from Lamborghini and Porsche. BMW and Audi later unveiled ten-cylinder versions of their mid-range saloons (the BMW 5-Series and Audi A6 families, respectively). Interestingly, Volkswagen developed a ten-cylinder engine as well, but as a turbo-diesel.
