Despite being heartbroken over the loss of the championship crown, Felipe Massa turned his thoughts to the well-being of Timo Glock and the Toyota team members. Lewis Hamilton became champion after passing Glock in the final turn of the race. Reason enough for the immense crowd of Brazilian Massa fans to turn against the German.

Massa, who was afraid that some of his supporters might turn their frustration and anger on members of the Toyota team, sent his younger brother to the Toyota garage to advise the team members to change their uniforms before leaving the circuit.

Members of the Toyota team took the warning very serious and returned to their hotel or the airport wearing spare uniforms of Renault and Ferrari and other clothing they could find.
